In 2026, polis – Austrian Centre for Citizenship Education in Schools will celebrate its twentieth anniversary. To mark the occasion, we are publishing a brochure that provides an insight into the work of polis over the last twenty years and thus also into important stages in political education in Austria.

- the lowering of the voting age to 16
- the introduction of the political education competency model
- the re-announcement of the political education policy decree
- piloting of new curricula
- strengthening of democracy education
