What personal data do we collect and for what purpose do we use it?

Photos from events
We take photos at events of the Vienna Forum for Democracy and Human Rights. The photos are published on our website and also in social media channels (Facebook, Twitter), in our electronic newsletter, annual report and in print media to present our activities. Legal basis: Legitimate interest in reference to article 6(1)(f) GDPR and articles 12 and 13 of the Austrian Data Protection Act: Public relations work and presentation of the activities of the person responsible in order to increase the level of awareness of the Vienna Forum for Democracy and Human Rights.

Newsletter
For the purpose of dissemination of a newsletters (e.g. for the distribution of information, invitations to events), there is the possibility on our website of registering for newsletter by expressed consent, this is done in a double opt-in procedure. After registration you will receive an e-mail asking you to confirm your registration.

The following personal data is collected and processed when registering for advertising material:

For the creation, sending and administration of our newsletter, the data is transmitted to a data processor. The data processor has consented to comply with the applicable data protection regulations by concluding a contract with us in accordance with article 28 DGPR.

Providing websites and creating logfiles

With every visit to our websites, our system automatically records data and information of the computer system of the calling computer. The following data will be collected here:

  • IP address of the requesting computer
  • Date and time of access
  • Name and URL of the requested file
  • Volume of data transmitted
  • Message whether the request was successful
  • Identification data of the accessing browser as well as operating system
  • Website from which access was initiated

The logfiles contain IP addresses or other data that allow for linking to a specific user. This could be the case, for instance, when the link to the website from which the user is accessing the website or the link to the website to which the user is switching contains personal data.

These data are also recorded in the logfiles of our system. These data are not stored together with other personal data of the user. Legal basis for temporarily storing data and logfiles is Article 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR. Storage in the logfiles is necessary to ensure the operability of the website. Furthermore, these data help us optimise the website and guarantee security of our information technology systems. We do not analyse any data for marketing purposes.

These purposes also define our legitimate interest in data processing in accordance with Article 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR. Data will be erased as soon as their collection no longer serves the fulfillment of their purpose, at the latest after 30 days. Collection of these data for the provision of the website is essential for operating the website. The user does not have the possibility to object.

What rights do users of the websites of the Vienna Forum for Democracy and Human Rights have?

They have the right to information, correction, deletion, restriction, data transferability, revocation and objection. You have the possibility to subscribe to our newsletter via our website. To do so, we need your personal data and your declaration that you agree to receive the newsletter.
